Why specialist vehicles need specialist recovery
A standard wheel-lift recovery truck works for the vast majority of breakdowns. It does not work for an EV with a sealed transmission, a ground-clearance-limited supercar, a classic with a non-disconnectable driveshaft, or a 4x4 buried up to its sills in a Derbyshire farmyard. Get it wrong and you damage the vehicle on the way to fixing it.
We run specialist kit alongside the standard fleet — tilt-bed flatbeds, wheel skates, low-angle ramps, soft straps, winch setups for off-road extraction. As importantly, the operators who handle these jobs have done the training that the manufacturers expect, particularly for EVs where incorrect recovery can void the drivetrain warranty.
We are based in Nottingham and most of our specialist work is within the East Midlands, but we also collect and deliver across the UK for dealers, auctions and private buyers.

EV recovery — what to expect
Electric vehicle calls are the fastest-growing part of our specialist work. The most common scenarios:
- Out of charge with no nearby charger — we recover to your preferred charge point or home.
- Charge port fault or stuck cable — recovery to a service centre.
- HV battery warning or thermal alert — handled to manufacturer protocols, recovery to authorised repairer.
- Post-collision EV — extra care during loading because of high-voltage system risks.

Why do EVs need specialist recovery?
Most electric vehicles cannot be towed on their drive wheels without damaging the motor or transmission. Manufacturer guidance for Tesla, Polestar, Audi e-tron, BMW i, Nissan Leaf and most modern EVs is flatbed transport with all four wheels off the ground. We use tilt-bed flatbeds and a wheel-skate kit for tight loading.
Do you transport prestige and supercars?
Yes. We move prestige and supercars on covered or open flatbed transporters depending on the brief. Soft straps, low-deck loading angles, and operators trained on low-clearance vehicles. We are insured for high-value transport up to standard policy limits with extension on request.
Can you collect a classic car for me?
Yes. Classic and vintage vehicle handling is part of our specialist offering. We use winch-on tilt-beds rather than hook-and-tow, which protects original drivelines. We can collect from auctions, private sellers and storage facilities anywhere in the East Midlands.
What about 4x4 and off-road recovery?
We handle 4x4 recoveries from green lanes, rural farms and off-road incidents. Winch kit, traction mats and the appropriate towing setup. If the vehicle is bogged down, tell us the conditions on the call and we will bring the right gear.
Are you insured for high-value vehicles?
Yes. We carry recovery operator insurance with cover for vehicles in transit. For vehicles above standard policy limits we can arrange specific extensions before collection — let us know the value and we will confirm.
Can you collect from auctions outside Nottingham?
Yes. We collect from auctions, dealers and private sellers across the UK and deliver to the East Midlands or vice versa. Common pickup points include BCA Nottingham, Manheim sites and main-dealer holding compounds.
